What does GSMED do?
We are specialists in medical imaging and endoscopic solutions for clinics, hospitals, private offices and veterinary centers in Latin America and the United States. Our work goes far beyond selling equipment: we design complete solutions, support medical equipment and ensure that each technology is used to its maximum potential.
Endoscopy line (human and veterinary – Latam and USA):
We sell new and reconditioned flexible and rigid endoscopy systems from leading brands such as Olympus, Pentax, Fujinon, Storz and Stryker, as well as systems from Lynmou and accessories from Hugemed and Mednova. We configure solutions according to the specialty, the type of procedure and the level of complexity of the medical center.
Endoscope washing and reprocessing:
We offer washing machines and reprocessing systems for endoscopy that help standardize disinfection, reduce infection risks and comply with biosafety guidelines, adapted to the reality of each institution.
VINNO ultrasound in Colombia (human and veterinary):
In Colombia we are official distributors of VINNO, with a complete line of high-end ultrasound machines for gynecology, obstetrics, internal medicine, cardiology, vascular, point of care and veterinary medicine. We accompany the doctor from the selection of the equipment to the clinical learning curve.
Veterinary imaging:
We design veterinary digital ultrasound and X-ray solutions, especially for small and large animal clinics and hospitals in Colombia, optimizing the investment and productivity of each imaging room.
Specialized diagnostic solutions:
We integrate technologies such as the Helicobacter pylori breath analyzer and advanced endoscopic kits such as Apollo OverStitch, supporting centers seeking to expand their portfolio of minimally invasive procedures.
Technical service, training and support:
We have laboratories in Bogotá, Barranquilla, MedellĂn, SĂŁo Paulo and Doral (USA) and a regional engineering team and Key Account Managers. We offer installation, preventive and corrective maintenance, on-site training, updates and continuous support to extend the useful life of the equipment and protect the investment.
Data on health and medicine in Latin America
Access to health in Latin America remains unequal. Many healthcare systems struggle with limited infrastructure, obsolete equipment, and high pressure to reduce costs, while demand for diagnostic services grows year after year. Regional studies show that:
- In numerous countries in the region, a significant part of the population still faces geographical, economic and infrastructure barriers to access timely diagnostic studies.
- A significant proportion of hospitals and public centers operate with aging or obsolete medical technology, which impacts the quality of images, increases downtime and makes maintenance more expensive.
- The aging of population and the increase in chronic diseases (cardiovascular, metabolic, oncological) are driving a growing demand for imaging studies and minimally invasive procedures.
- Health systems are forced to do more with limited resources, prioritizing cost-efficient solutions, flexible service models and technologies that extend the useful life of equipment without losing diagnostic quality.
